Prosper - Horrible experience
I had a 60 month loan with them. I paid each payment due online.
I paid the exact amount they showed; however, imagine my surprise when my last payment was due this month and there is a HUGE balance they want paid. I questioned it and they said they were unpaid late fees with interest being charged. Hello? Why didn't you charge me a late fee if the loan was ever late.
Why wait until the very end of the loan when I think I'm making my final regular payment to say I owe a lot more. And, they won't settle. I told them I'd pay the late fee, but not the interest. I don't have it.
No matter how many times I tried to tell them this and ask for a reasonable way to settle the account, they just out right said NO and won't help; however, if it goes to collections, I can settle with them.
Makes no sense what so ever!! So mad!!
Reason of review: Problems with payment.
Monetary Loss: $2300.
Preferred solution: Price reduction.
Prosper Cons: Period, Business practices.

I just called prosper, to ask a few questions about the loans and finally many other things. And the truth the people who have to answer the phone are a game of idiots who has more desire to talk and be kind to the guards of a high-security correctional are kinder.
With that service and the kindness of the people who take care of the phone, people who want to do business with this company run it out. It is probable that the company is good but that customer service when a person calls, the truth they get it running
