In December, 2016, I tried several times to get a pay-off amount on my loan. Each time I called, the "system was down." The last time I called, the agent suggested that I just go online, would get the information faster.

I did as suggested, thought I received the correct pay-off amount but low & behold, the quote was $2,800 short! I thought I had paid this off but the first month I didn't make a payment, they were all over me. I tried and tried to get an explanation of what happened but no one could give me a straight answer. I asked to speak to a supervisor but no luck.

In my mind, I paid 16 months in advance due to the amount I paid but ,they informed me that you have to make monthly payments eventhough I had enough to pay 16 months in advance!

I have to report them to the Consumer Protection Bureau because I believe there is much fraud and deceptive business practices in place. Stay away from Prosper!!

Reason of review: Problems with payment.

Monetary Loss: $2800.

Preferred solution: Debt forgiveness due to their error..

Prosper Cons: Business practices.
